    Getting There

    Walking

    Start at the Herculaneum archaeological site entrance. Exit the site and head towards Corso Resina. Turn left onto Corso Resina and walk straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with Via Roma. Turn right onto Via Roma, continue for about 500 meters, and you will reach the train station called 'Ercolano Scavi'. From there, take the Circumvesuviana train towards Napoli and disembark at the 'Pozzuoli' station. Upon exiting the station, head south on Via Napoli, and after a short walk, you will find Lake Avernus on your left.

    Public Transport

    From Herculaneum, walk to the Ercolano Scavi train station, which is about a 15-minute walk from the archaeological site. Take the Circumvesuviana train towards Napoli. Change trains at 'Napoli Centrale' and take the Metro Line 2 towards 'Pozzuoli'. Disembark at 'Pozzuoli' station, which is a short walk from Lake Avernus. Exit the station and head south on Via Napoli until you reach the lake.

    To reach Lake Avernus by taxi, simply find a taxi stand near the Herculaneum archaeological site or call a local taxi service. Inform the driver that you want to go to Lake Avernus in Pozzuoli. The journey should take approximately 20-25 minutes, depending on traffic. The driver will take you directly to the lake entrance.
