Walking
From the central area of Herculaneum, head east towards Corso Resina. Follow Corso Resina until you reach the Circumvesuviana train station called Ercolano Scavi. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Naples and board the train heading towards Napoli Centrale. After approximately 20 minutes, disembark at Napoli Montesanto station. Exit the station, and you will find Piazza Montesanto just a short walk away to the northeast.
Public Transport - Bus
From Herculaneum, walk to the nearest bus stop on Corso Resina. You can catch the EAV Bus Line 1 heading towards Naples. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes. Get off at the stop called Piazza Dante. From there, walk east towards Via Toledo, then continue northeast until you reach Piazza Montesanto.
Combination of Train and Walking
Start by walking to the Ercolano Scavi train station from Herculaneum. Take the Circumvesuviana train towards Napoli Centrale and get off at Napoli Montesanto station. After exiting the train, turn left and walk a few minutes northeast to reach Piazza Montesanto.
