Walking
From the center of Herculaneum, head southwest towards Corso Resina and turn left. Continue walking along Corso Resina until you reach the intersection with Via Roma. Turn right onto Via Roma and walk straight until you reach the Circumvesuviana train station, Ercolano Scavi. Take the train towards Sorrento, which will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Positano station, exit the train and follow the signs to the main road. From there, you can either walk down to the beach or take a local bus to reach the heart of Positano.
Public Transport (Bus)
Start at the central square in Herculaneum. Locate the bus stop for SITA buses which is situated near the entrance of the archaeological site. Take the SITA bus that is heading towards Sorrento. The journey to Positano will take approximately 45 minutes. You will need to pay attention to the announcements as the bus approaches Positano. Once you arrive, get off at the main bus stop in Positano and walk down towards the beach, following the signs that indicate the direction of the shoreline.
