Discover more about San Fermo Hills

The San Fermo Hills present a landscape dotted with isolated stone farmhouses, soft hills, and verdant spots that testify to a domesticated nature. This area serves as a natural gym, perfect for hiking and mountain biking, inviting visitors to rediscover ancient flavors and local products. The hills are easily accessible from the town of Grone, approximately a 25-minute drive away. Once there, visitors can enjoy a loop trail designed to be accessible to people with disabilities, ensuring everyone can experience the Bergamasque mountains. The trail leads to a panoramic terrace that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Historically, the area provided a place where local farmers prayed for the protection of their livestock and the health of their children in the small church of San Fermo, dating back to the 15th century. Today, the Big Bench, created in 2019 by artist Chris Bangle, provides a modern vantage point to appreciate the magnificent panorama over Lago d'Iseo.
