From the Lucca city center, head towards the main train station (Stazione di Lucca) which is approximately a 15-minute walk. Once you reach the station, take a train to Pisa Centrale. The train ride will take about 30 minutes. From Pisa Centrale, transfer to a train heading to Roma Termini. Get off at Roma Termini, which is approximately a 2-hour ride. Once in Rome, follow the signs for the Metro and take Line A towards Battistini. Get off at Ottaviano-San Pietro station. Exit the station and walk straight along Via Ottaviano until you reach Piazza San Pietro. The entrance to St. Peter's Basilica will be on your right.
