If you are starting from the Lucca train station, exit the station and head east on Viale Giosuè Carducci towards the city center. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the city walls. Once you arrive at the walls, follow the path along the walls to the right until you reach Porta San Pietro. From Porta San Pietro, walk down Via San Pietro and turn left onto Via Fillungo. Continue along Via Fillungo until you reach Piazza dell'Anfiteatro, which will be on your right.
