Walking
If you are starting from the Lucca Train Station, exit the station and head east on Viale Regina Margherita. Continue straight for about 800 meters until you reach the city walls. Once you reach the walls, turn right onto Via Giuseppe Mazzini, which will take you along the outer side of the walls. Follow this road until it curves left into the city. Continue onto Via Vittorio Emanuele and then turn right onto Via Roma. As you proceed, you will see the Torre delle Ore (Clock Tower) on your left. From there, turn left onto Via Fillungo, a main shopping street. Continue straight until you reach the end of Via Fillungo, where you will find Piazza San Michele directly ahead.

If you are at the Lucca Cathedral (Cattedrale di San Martino), exit the cathedral and head southeast on Via della Chiesa toward Piazza San Martino. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Fillungo. Turn right onto Via Fillungo and continue walking straight. After a short walk, you will arrive at Piazza San Michele, which will be on your left.

If you are near the Botanical Garden of Lucca, exit the garden and head northwest on Via delle Tagliate. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via San Paolino. Turn right onto Via San Paolino and continue straight until you reach the city walls. Once at the walls, turn left onto Via Giuseppe Mazzini. Follow this road until it curves left into the city and turns into Via Vittorio Emanuele. Continue straight and take a right onto Via Roma. From there, turn left onto Via Fillungo, and you will arrive at Piazza San Michele.
