Walking
If you are starting from the Lucca Train Station, exit the station and head straight on Viale Giuseppe Mazzini. Continue walking until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Viale Carlo del Prete. Walk along this street until you reach the city walls. Go through the archway to enter the historic center of Lucca. Once inside, follow the main street (Via Fillungo) until you reach Piazza Santa Maria. Porta Santa Maria is located at the edge of the square at Piazza Santa Maria, 42.
Walking
If you are starting from the Lucca Cathedral (Duomo di San Martino), exit the cathedral and head towards Via Sant'Andrea. Turn left onto Via Sant'Andrea and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Fillungo. Turn right onto Via Fillungo and walk until you reach Piazza Santa Maria. Porta Santa Maria will be located on your left at Piazza Santa Maria, 42.
