As you stand in front of the cathedral, look up to see the golden statue of the Madonnina atop the cathedral's spire. To get a closer view, simply walk towards the cathedral’s entrance, and you can admire the statue from the square.

While you are in the square, consider taking photos of the Madonnina from various angles. The best spot for a clear shot is from the front of the Duomo, where the statue stands prominently against the skyline.

Viewing
For a closer view of the Madonnina, you can also take the lift to the rooftop of the Duomo. There is an entrance on the left side of the cathedral. The lift costs approximately €10. From the rooftop, you will have an exceptional view of the Madonnina and the city of Milan.
