Museo Stanguellini: A Legacy of Modenese Motorsports
Explore the history of the Stanguellini family, pioneers in Modena's racing heritage, showcasing their legacy of innovation and passion for motorsports.
The Museo Stanguellini offers a glimpse into the golden age of motorsports in Modena, Italy. Founded in 1996 by Francesco Stanguellini, the museum celebrates the legacy of his father, Vittorio Stanguellini, and the Stanguellini family's contributions to the automotive world. Vittorio Stanguellini, nicknamed 'the transformer,' inherited his mechanical aptitude from his grandfather, who established an engineering works in 1879, and his father, who registered the first car in Modena. Vittorio began tuning and modifying cars for racing in the late 1920s, becoming a friendly rival to Enzo Ferrari. In 1938, he formed Squadra Corse Stanguellini, achieving early success. Stanguellini cars competed in major racing events, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The museum displays approximately 30 vehicles, including Fiat-derived racing cars, the Stanguellini Junior, and the Stanguellini-Guzzi Colibrì. Visitors can also view trophies, tools, and other memorabilia that illustrate the family's history and passion for motorsports. The museum is located in the former workshop of the Fiat dealership run by the Stanguellini family for over 80 years. A visit offers a unique insight into the spirit of Motor Valley.
