Getting there

Walking

If you are starting from Modena's central train station, exit the station and head towards Viale Vittorio Veneto. Continue straight until you reach Piazza della Libertà. From there, turn left onto Via Emilia Centro and walk straight for about 600 meters until you see Piazza Grande on your right. The beautiful cathedral will be directly in front of you.

Walking

If you are near the Palazzo Ducale, exit the palace and walk south on Via Garibaldi. Continue walking straight, and it will lead you to Piazza Grande. It’s approximately a 10-minute walk from the palace.

Public Transport

If you're at the Modena bus station, take bus line 6 or 7 towards the city center. Get off at the stop 'Piazza Matteotti.' From there, walk a short distance down Via Emilia Centro, and you will arrive at Piazza Grande in about 5 minutes.

Walking

From the Ghirlandina Tower, which is also in the vicinity, walk towards the cathedral. Piazza Grande is just a few steps away; simply head towards the large open square in front of the cathedral, and you will be at Piazza Grande.
