Getting there

Walking

From the main square in Montepulciano, Piazza Grande, head southeast on Via San Carlo. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer. You will pass by the Church of San Biagio on your right. After you pass the church, keep going straight until you reach the fork in the road. Take the left fork onto Via di Pienza. Follow this road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the town of Pienza. The journey should take around 2 hours on foot, so wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the scenic views.

Bus

From the bus station in Montepulciano, take the bus heading towards Pienza. Buses run regularly, so check the local schedule for the next departure. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the Pienza bus station, you will be right in the center of town. From there, you can easily walk to any attraction in Pienza.

Bicycle

If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in Montepulciano. From the rental location, head southeast on Via San Carlo. Continue for about 1 kilometer until you reach the Church of San Biagio. Then, take the left fork onto Via di Pienza. The ride to Pienza is approximately 10 kilometers and should take around 30-40 minutes, depending on your cycling speed. The route offers beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside.
