Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main square in Montepulciano, Piazza Grande, head southeast on Via San Carlo. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer. You will pass by the Church of San Biagio on your right. After you pass the church, keep going straight until you reach the fork in the road. Take the left fork onto Via di Pienza. Follow this road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the town of Pienza. The journey should take around 2 hours on foot, so wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the scenic views.

    From the bus station in Montepulciano, take the bus heading towards Pienza. Buses run regularly, so check the local schedule for the next departure. The journey takes about 30 minutes.
