  • Ferry

    The primary way to reach Ischia is by ferry from Naples or Pozzuoli. Ferries depart regularly from Naples' Molo Beverello and Calata Porta di Massa piers and from Pozzuoli. From Naples (Molo Beverello), high-speed ferries (hydrofoils) take approximately 45-60 minutes. Slower car ferries from Calata Porta di Massa take around 90 minutes. From Pozzuoli, the ferry takes around 60 minutes. Ferry tickets from Naples range from €9-€26. Car ferry tickets from Pozzuoli cost around €14 for passengers and €43 for a car. Online purchase supplement is €1. Upon arrival at Ischia Porto, taxis and buses are readily available. The bus terminal is a short walk uphill from the port. Bus tickets can be purchased at the terminal or from tobacconists. A single ticket costs €1.50. Taxis are also available, with fares starting at €4.3 plus €1.1 per kilometer.

  • Bus

    Upon arrival at Ischia Porto, the main bus terminal is located a short walk uphill from the ferry docks. From there, you can catch a bus to any of the island's towns and attractions. The two main bus lines are the CS (Circolare Sinistra) and CD (Circolare Destra), which circle the island in opposite directions. Bus tickets can be purchased at the ticket window at the bus terminal, as well as at tobacconists, newsagents and some hotels. A single ticket costs €1.70. A 100-minute ticket costs €1.80, a day pass costs €4.50, and a weekly pass costs €15.50. Remember to validate your ticket once on board. From Ischia Porto, the number 7 bus runs to Ischia Ponte and the Aragonese Castle. The CS and CD buses provide access to other towns and attractions around the island.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are readily available at Ischia Porto upon arrival. They offer a convenient but more expensive way to reach your final destination. Taxi fares in Ischia start at €4.3, with an additional €1.1 per kilometer. Waiting time is charged at €29 per hour. A taxi from Ischia Porto to Ischia Ponte costs around €10. To Casamicciola, the fare is approximately €15. To Forio, expect to pay around €30. To Sant'Angelo, the fare is approximately €40. Taxi services can also be booked in advance by contacting local taxi companies. Be aware that a night supplement of 30% applies between 10 PM and 6 AM.
