If you are starting from the famous Teatro Massimo, head east towards Via Maqueda. Walk straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Via Roma. Turn right onto Via Roma and continue walking for another 300 meters until you arrive at the intersection with Via Vittorio Emanuele. Here, turn left onto Via Vittorio Emanuele and continue for about 600 meters. You will then reach P.za S. Giacomo La Marina, where the Church of Saint Mary 'la Nova' is located.

From the central train station (Stazione Centrale di Palermo), take bus number 104 in the direction of 'La Favorita'. Get off at the 'Corte dei Conti' stop, which is approximately a 15-minute ride. Once you get off, walk back towards Via Vittorio Emanuele and then head south for about 200 meters to reach P.za S. Giacomo La Marina, where the Church of Saint Mary 'la Nova' is situated.
