If you are starting from the central area of Palermo, make your way to the main thoroughfare, Via Roma. From there, head towards the historic quarter. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Via Maqueda, a popular street filled with shops and cafes. Turn left onto Via Maqueda and continue walking until you see the Teatro Massimo on your right. From Teatro Massimo, take Via Giuseppe Verdi and continue until you reach the intersection with Via Vittorio Emanuele. At this point, take a right and walk towards the Quattro Canti, a famous square. From Quattro Canti, continue straight onto Corso Vittorio Emanuele until you reach P.za S. Giacomo La Marina. The Church of Saint Mary 'la Nova' will be on your left side, easily recognizable by its distinct façade.

Public Transport - Bus
If you prefer to take a bus, head to the nearest bus stop on Via Roma and look for lines that go towards the historical center. Check the local schedules for buses heading to P.za S. Giacomo. Once you board the bus, stay on until you reach the stop closest to P.za S. Giacomo. Upon disembarking, walk towards the square, and you will find the Church of Saint Mary 'la Nova' at the edge of the piazza.

Alternatively, you can take the tram. Find the nearest tram stop and board a tram that heads towards the historical center. You will want to get off at the stop closest to Piazza San Francesco. From there, walk towards Corso Vittorio Emanuele and follow it until you reach P.za S. Giacomo La Marina. The church will be visible at the end of the piazza.
