Bus
From the center of Palermo, head to the central bus station at Piazza Giulio Cesare. Look for the bus company 'Prestia e Comandè', which operates services to Monreale. Purchase a ticket to Monreale (approximately €1.50). Board the bus to Monreale, which usually departs every 30 minutes. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Monreale, get off at the main stop (Piazza Guglielmo II) where the beautiful cathedral and square are located.
Train and Bus
If you are near the Palermo Notarbartolo train station, you can take a suburban train to the station 'Monreale'. However, this train does not run frequently. Alternatively, take a train to Palermo Centrale, then switch to the bus as described above. From Palermo Centrale, head to the bus station at Piazza Giulio Cesare, find the 'Prestia e Comandè' bus, and purchase your ticket to Monreale.
