Bus
From the center of Perugia, head to the main bus station (Piazza Partigiani). Look for bus line 54 or 55 that goes towards Tuoro sul Trasimeno. The bus ride takes about 35-40 minutes. Get off at the stop 'Tuoro sul Trasimeno'. From the bus stop, walk along Via Roma for about 10 minutes until you see signs for Castello di Montegualandro. The castle is located on a hill, so you will have a short uphill walk.
Train and Bus
Take a train from Perugia to the nearest train station, which is Castiglione del Lago. The train departs from the Perugia train station. Once you arrive at Castiglione del Lago, exit the station and catch a local bus (line 40) towards Tuoro sul Trasimeno. The bus journey will take approximately 20 minutes. After arriving in Tuoro sul Trasimeno, walk about 15 minutes towards the castle, following the signs for Castello di Montegualandro.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, you can take a scenic route. Start at the center of Perugia and head northwest towards Lake Trasimeno. The distance is about 22 kilometers and will take approximately 4.5 to 5 hours on foot. Follow Via dei Priori and then Via della Libertà until you reach the outskirts of Tuoro sul Trasimeno. Look for signs leading to Castello di Montegualandro. It's a beautiful walk, but make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
