Bus
From the center of Perugia, head to the main bus station located at Piazza Partigiani. Look for buses heading towards Orvieto; you can buy tickets at the station or onboard. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Orvieto bus station, exit and follow the signs to the funicular railway which will take you up to the historic center of Orvieto.
Train
Make your way to the Perugia train station (Stazione di Perugia). Purchase a ticket for the train heading to Orvieto. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Orvieto train station, exit and take the local bus or a taxi to reach Piazza Cahen, which is located in the historic center.
Walking and Funicular
If you're feeling adventurous and want to experience the beautiful countryside, consider walking to the nearby train station at Ponte San Giovanni, which is about 5 km from central Perugia. From there, take a train to Orvieto. After arriving, walk to the funicular station to ascend to the town. The funicular is located about a 10-minute walk from the train station and offers stunning views as you ascend.
