Getting There

• Train

  To reach Parco Fluviale del Serchio in Lucca from Pisa, start by heading to Pisa Centrale Train Station. You can walk to the station from anywhere in Pisa city center. Once at the station, purchase a ticket to Lucca. Trains to Lucca run regularly, typically every 30 minutes. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Lucca Train Station, exit the station and walk towards the bus stop located right outside. Take Bus Line 82 towards 'San Salvatore' and get off at the stop 'Via della Scogliera'. From there, it is a short walk to Parco Fluviale del Serchio, which should be clearly marked.

• Bus

  Alternatively, you can take a bus directly from Pisa to Lucca. Head to the Pisa central bus station, which is located near the train station. Look for the bus service provided by 'CPT' (Compagnia Pisana Trasporti) going to Lucca. Buses leave approximately every hour. The ride to Lucca takes around 1 hour. Once you arrive at Lucca's bus station, you can either walk or take a local taxi to Parco Fluviale del Serchio, which is approximately a 15-20 minute walk away.

• Bicycle

  If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Pisa and ride to Lucca. There are several bike rental shops in the city center. The ride to Lucca is about 20 kilometers and follows a relatively flat route. Head out of Pisa towards the west via Via Aurelia, then follow the signs to Lucca. Upon reaching Lucca, follow the signs to Parco Fluviale del Serchio, which is located along the river. Make sure to plan for a round trip, as it will take about 1-2 hours each way, depending on your cycling speed.
