Walking
From the Pompeii Archaeological Park entrance, head northeast on Via Villa dei Misteri toward Via Roma. After about 300 meters, turn left onto Via Roma. Continue straight for approximately 1 kilometer until you reach the intersection with Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi. Turn right onto Corso Giuseppe Garibaldi and walk for about 600 meters. After you pass the train station, continue straight until you reach Piazza Garibaldi. Here, you can catch the Circumvesuviana train towards Naples. Ride the train for about 30 minutes to Napoli Centrale station, then exit the station. From Napoli Centrale, it’s about a 15-minute walk to Piazza Mercato. Head southeast on Via Giovanni Paladino, then turn right onto Via San Giovanni a Mare. Follow this street until you reach Piazza Mercato.
Train and Walking
Start at the Pompeii Archaeological Park entrance and walk to the nearby Pompeii Scavi - Villa dei Misteri train station, which is about a 10-minute walk. Take the Circumvesuviana train towards Naples. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at Napoli Centrale. From Napoli Centrale, follow the signs to exit the station and walk towards Piazza Garibaldi. Once at Piazza Garibaldi, head southeast on Via Giovanni Paladino, then turn right onto Via San Giovanni a Mare and continue straight until you arrive at Piazza Mercato.
Bus
From the Pompeii Archaeological Park entrance, walk to the nearest bus stop on Via Roma, which is about 5 minutes away. Look for the EAV bus service heading to Naples. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride which will take about 40 minutes. Disembark at the stop near Piazza Garibaldi. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk. Head southeast on Via Giovanni Paladino, turn right onto Via San Giovanni a Mare, and continue straight to reach Piazza Mercato.
