Car
If you are driving from the center of Portofino, head southwest on Via Roma toward Via Duca degli Abruzzi. Continue on this road as it curves toward the coastline, and follow the signs for SS1 (Strada Statale 1). After approximately 8 kilometers, you will reach the town of Riomaggiore. Follow the signs to Riomaggiore Beach, which is located near the waterfront. There is limited parking available near the beach, so plan accordingly.

Public Transportation - Train
From Portofino, head to the nearest train station, which is in Santa Margherita Ligure. You can take a bus or taxi to the train station. Once at Santa Margherita Ligure, purchase a ticket for a train to Riomaggiore. The train ride takes about 30 minutes. Upon arrival at Riomaggiore station, exit the station and follow the signs leading to the beach. It’s about a 10-minute walk downhill to Riomaggiore Beach.

From Portofino, you can take a bus to Santa Margherita Ligure. Look for the bus stop near the main square in Portofino. Once you arrive in Santa Margherita, transfer to a bus heading to Riomaggiore.
