Ferry
From Positano, head to the main beach area where the ferries dock. Look for signs pointing to 'Ferry to Naples' or 'Ferry to Pozzuoli'. Purchase a ticket at the ferry booth. Board the ferry heading to Pozzuoli. The ride will take approximately 40-60 minutes, offering beautiful views of the coastline. Once you arrive at the Pozzuoli ferry terminal, you can either walk or take a local bus to reach the Phlegraean Fields.
Bus
After arriving at the Pozzuoli ferry terminal, exit the terminal and locate the bus stops outside. Look for bus line 'C2' or 'R2' which heads towards the Phlegraean Fields. Make sure to have exact change or a bus ticket ready. The bus ride will take around 15-20 minutes. Keep an eye on the stops and ask the driver to alert you when you reach the Phlegraean Fields.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from the Pozzuoli ferry terminal, exit the terminal and head southeast towards the main road, Via Napoli. Turn left onto Via Napoli and follow the road for about 1.5 kilometers. Look for signs indicating the direction of the Phlegraean Fields, which will be on your right. The walk will take approximately 30-40 minutes, and you will enjoy the local scenery along the way.
