    Walking

    From the main beach area of Positano, head up the main road (Via dei Mulini) towards the town center. Continue past the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, and take the first left onto Via Pasitea. Follow this road until you reach the bus stop near the main road (Via Marconi). Take the SITA bus towards Sorrento. Ask the driver to let you off at Ercolano; it should take about 40-50 minutes. Once you arrive in Ercolano, follow the signs to the entrance of Vesuvio, which is approximately a 30-minute walk uphill.

    Start at the main beach area of Positano and walk to the nearest SITA bus stop located on Via Marconi. Board a SITA bus heading towards Naples. You will want to get off at the Ercolano Scavi stop, which is the closest stop for visiting Vesuvio. From the bus stop, follow the signs for Vesuvio, which is about a 30-minute uphill walk. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes as the path can be steep.
