Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are near the Vatican, head south on Via della Conciliazione, which leads directly to Castel Sant'Angelo. The castle will be visible at the end of the street. Cross the bridge (Ponte Sant'Angelo) to reach the castle entrance.

  • Metro and Walking

    Take the Metro Line A (the red line) to the Ottaviano station. Exit the station and walk south on Via Ottaviano until you reach Via della Conciliazione. Turn left and continue straight until you reach Castel Sant'Angelo at the end of the street.

  • Bus and Walking

    Catch bus number 87 or 492 from various points in Rome, heading towards the Piazza Pia stop. From there, walk towards the Tiber River and follow the road along the riverbank to reach Castel Sant'Angelo. The castle is located at Lungotevere Castello, 50.

  • Walking from Piazza Navona

    From Piazza Navona, head northwest on Corso del Rinascimento, then turn left onto Via dei Coronari. Walk straight until reaching the Tiber River, then turn right and head south along the riverbank. You will see Castel Sant'Angelo as you approach.
