If you are at the Colosseum, start by heading northwest on Via di Villa Peretti toward Via del Monte Oppio. Continue straight onto Via di San Giovanni in Laterano. After about 500 meters, turn right onto Via Labicana. Walk for approximately 600 meters until you reach Piazza di Santa Maria Maggiore. From there, continue walking northwest toward Via dell'Università, where you will find the entrance to the university. After passing the university, you will see Via dei Calcarari. Follow this street until you arrive at Piazza dei Calcarari. The total distance is about 1.5 kilometers, taking approximately 20-25 minutes.

From Termini Station, take Metro Line A (the red line) in the direction of Battistini. Get off at the third stop, which is Ottaviano. After exiting the station, walk towards Via Ottaviano and turn left. Continue straight until you reach Piazza San Pietro. From there, head to Via dei Calcarari, which will be about a 10-minute walk. The total travel time including waiting may take about 30-40 minutes depending on the metro schedule.
