Getting There

Walking
If you are near the Colosseum, exit onto Piazza del Colosseo and head northwest on Via di San Giovanni in Laterano. Turn left onto Via Labicana and continue straight until you reach Piazza di Santa Maria in Trastevere. From there, head north on Via della Navicella, then turn left onto Via San Gregorio and follow the road as it curves into Via di Valle Murcia. Continue until you reach Via dei Fori Imperiali and turn right. Walk straight to Piazza Venezia and you will see the Altare della Patria. From there, take Via del Teatro di Marcello, which leads you to Piazza del Campidoglio on your right.

Metro
Take Line B of the Metro from any nearby station and get off at Colosseo station. From there, exit onto Via di San Giovanni in Laterano, turn left, and follow the walking directions as outlined above. Alternatively, if you are closer to Termini station, take Line A towards Battistini and get off at Barberini station. From Barberini, head to Via del Tritone, then to Via del Corso, and continue until you reach Piazza Venezia. Follow the same walking directions from Piazza Venezia to Piazza del Campidoglio.

Bus
You can take bus line 70 or 81 from various locations in Rome. If you're at the Vatican, take bus 81 from Piazza San Pietro and get off at the stop for Piazza Venezia. From there, follow the walking directions to Piazza del Campidoglio as previously described. If you are starting from Termini, take bus 170 towards Cipro and get off at Via della Consolazione. Walk towards Via di San Marco, and follow the streets leading you to Piazza Venezia, then to Piazza del Campidoglio.
