Getting There

  • Metro

    If you are near a Metro station, take Line B (the blue line) towards Laurentina. Disembark at the Piramide station. From there, exit the station and walk towards the Basilica di Santa Maria in Cosmedin, which is located at the base of the Pyramid of Cestius. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection at Via Marmorata. Turn right onto Via Marmorata and walk until you reach Piazza Testaccio, which will be on your left.

  • Bus

    Look for a bus stop nearby and catch either bus number 75 or 170. These buses travel towards Testaccio. You will want to get off at the 'Testaccio' stop. Once you get off, walk straight ahead towards the large square, Piazza Testaccio, which is a short walk from the bus stop. You’ll see the square right in front of you.

  • Walking

    If you are already in the nearby areas such as Trastevere or Aventine Hill, you can easily walk to Piazza Testaccio. From Trastevere, head towards Ponte Sublicio and cross the river. Once across, take a left to Via di Porta Portese and continue walking until you reach Via Marmorata. Turn left on Via Marmorata and walk straight until you arrive at Piazza Testaccio. If you are coming from Aventine Hill, walk down to Via di Santa Sabina, then turn left onto Via Marmorata, and continue straight to reach the square.

  • Taxi

    If you prefer to take a taxi, you can easily find one at any taxi stand in the city. Simply provide the driver with 'Piazza Testaccio' as your destination.
