Getting there

Walking

If you are in central Rome, you can easily reach St. Peter's Basilica on foot. From Piazza Navona, head southwest on Piazza Navona towards Via di Santa Maria dell'Anima. Turn left onto Via di Santa Maria dell'Anima and continue walking until you reach Corso Vittorio Emanuele II. Take a right onto Corso Vittorio Emanuele II and walk straight until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the river using the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge. After crossing, continue straight onto Via della Conciliazione, which will lead you directly to Piazza San Pietro and the entrance to St. Peter's Basilica.

Metro

If you prefer to take the metro, find the nearest metro station, which is 'Ottaviano' (Line A). Once at the station, board the metro heading towards 'Anagnina.' After two stops, get off at 'Termini' station. From Termini, transfer to Line B and take the metro to 'Colosseo' station. Exit and walk towards the Colosseum, then head to Via dei Fori Imperiali leading you towards Piazza Venezia. From there, continue walking to Via del Corso, and follow the signs to the Vatican. Finally, walk to Piazza San Pietro.

Bus

You can take bus number 64 from Termini station, which is a common route for tourists. Board the bus at Termini and stay on until you reach the stop 'Piazza San Pietro.' This will drop you very close to the entrance of St. Peter's Basilica. Make sure to check the bus schedule for the latest information and have some change ready for the fare.

Taxi

If you prefer a more comfortable option, consider taking a taxi. You can easily find a taxi stand throughout Rome. Just approach the nearest taxi stand and inform the driver that you want to go to 'Piazza San Pietro.' The ride should take around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic. Ensure that you have some cash or a credit card ready to pay for the fare.
