Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from the popular tourist spot, the Colosseum, head northwest on Via di San Giovanni in Laterano towards Piazza di San Giovanni in Laterano. Continue straight until you reach Via Merulana, then turn left. Keep walking until you reach the intersection with Via Labicana. Turn right and walk until you arrive at the Basilica di San Clemente. From there, head west on Via Labicana until you reach Via di Porta Metronia. Continue straight until you see the entrance to the Parco della Resistenza. Walk through the park, and you will find yourself at the riverbank. Follow the riverbank south until you spot Tiber Island. The island is easily recognizable with its unique shape and greenery.

If you are near the Vatican, take bus number 23 from the stop at Piazza San Pietro. Ride for approximately 15 minutes and get off at the stop at 'Piazza Navona'. From there, walk southeast along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II until you reach the Tiber River. Cross the bridge 'Ponte Sant'Angelo' and continue walking straight until you see the next bridge on your left, 'Ponte Fabricio', which will take you directly to Tiber Island.
