Walking
If you are near the city center, head towards the River Tiber and locate the Ponte Sant'Angelo bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight. After crossing, follow the road signs to Castel Sant'Angelo. Once you reach Castel Sant'Angelo, continue walking towards the Vatican City. You will see the towering dome of St. Peter's Basilica in the distance. Continue straight on Via della Conciliazione, which will lead you directly to Piazza San Pietro. The Vatican Necropolis is located beneath St. Peter's Basilica, so you may need to enter the basilica to access it.
