Walking
If you're in the vicinity of the Colosseum, head northwest on Via di San Giovanni in Laterano towards Piazza di San Giovanni in Laterano. Continue straight onto Via della Polveriera and then turn right onto Via di Villa Peretti. Follow this road until you reach the end, where it will lead you to Piazza Venezia. From Piazza Venezia, walk towards Via del Corso. Turn left and walk down Via del Corso until you reach Piazza San Lorenzo in Lucina. Continue walking straight until you see the entrance to the Ara Coeli Staircase on your left, located at the top of a large set of stairs.
Public Transport - Bus
From Termini Station, take Bus 170 towards 'Piazza Venezia'. Get off at the 'Piazza Venezia' stop. Once you get off, walk towards the large monument (Altare della Patria) in Piazza Venezia. Head towards Via del Corso and turn left. Continue walking down Via del Corso until you reach Piazza San Lorenzo in Lucina. The Ara Coeli Staircase will be on your left, leading to the church of Santa Maria in Ara Coeli.
Metro
Take Line B (Blue Line) from Termini Station towards 'Laurentina' and get off at the 'Colosseo' station. Exit the station and head northwest towards Via di San Giovanni in Laterano. Continue towards Piazza Venezia. From there, walk towards Via del Corso and follow it down until you reach Piazza San Lorenzo in Lucina. The Ara Coeli Staircase will be on your left.
