Walking
If you're staying in central Rome, you can easily walk to the Sistine Chapel. Start by heading towards the Vatican City. If you're near St. Peter's Basilica, simply walk past the basilica towards the Vatican Museums entrance. Once you reach the entrance of the Vatican Museums, you will need to purchase a ticket to enter, as the Sistine Chapel is located inside the museums. After entering, follow the signs to the Chapel, which is at the end of the museum route.
Public Transport (Metro)
If you're further away, take the Metro Line A (the orange line) towards Battistini. Get off at the Ottaviano-San Pietro stop. From there, exit the station and walk towards the Vatican City, which is about a 10-minute walk. As you approach, follow the signs to the Vatican Museums. After purchasing your ticket, proceed through the museum to reach the Sistine Chapel.
Bus
Take bus number 81, 87, or 492 that heads towards the Vatican area. Get off at the 'Rondella' stop. From there, it’s a short walk to the Vatican Museums entrance. Make sure to buy your ticket to enter the museums and follow the signs to the Sistine Chapel.
