Walking
From the main square of San Gimignano, Piazza della Cisterna, head east towards Via San Giovanni. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Vecchia. Turn left onto Via Vecchia and follow it until you reach the end of the street. At the T-junction, turn right onto Via San Matteo. Continue walking for about 300 meters until you reach the bus stop 'San Gimignano - Porta San Giovanni'. From there, take the bus to Florence. The bus ride will take about an hour. Once you arrive in Florence, get off at the 'Firenze Santa Maria Novella' train station. From the station, you can either walk or take a local bus to reach Chiesa di Santa Monaca located at Via Santa Monaca, 6. If walking, head southeast on Via Nazionale towards Piazza della Repubblica, then turn left onto Via dei Pescioni. Continue straight until you reach Via Santa Monaca.

From San Gimignano, walk to the 'San Gimignano - Porta San Giovanni' bus stop, which is approximately a 10-minute walk from the town center. Board the bus heading towards Florence, which operates regularly throughout the day. The journey will take about an hour. Once you arrive at 'Firenze Santa Maria Novella' bus station, exit and head towards the main exit. From there, you can either walk to Chiesa di Santa Monaca, which is about a 20-minute walk. To do so, walk east on Via della Scala, then turn left onto Via Nazionale and continue until you reach Piazza della Repubblica. From there, turn left onto Via dei Pescioni and continue until you reach Via Santa Monaca. Alternatively, you can take a local bus or tram from the station to get closer to your destination.
