    Walking

    From the main square, Piazza della Cisterna, head northwest towards Via San Giovanni. Continue straight until you reach Via delle Rompete. Take a right on Via delle Rompete and follow it until you arrive at the intersection with Via San Matteo. Turn left onto Via San Matteo and walk towards the city walls. You'll find the entrance to the Oltrarno area as you approach the historic city walls and the Arno River.

    If you're starting from the Collegiata di Santa Maria Assunta, exit the church and head south on Via San Giovanni. Continue straight, passing through the narrow streets until you reach the main road, Via Vecchia. Cross over to Via delle Rompete, then take a left onto Via San Matteo. Keep walking straight until you reach the entrance of the Oltrarno neighborhood, where you will see the charming streets and artisan shops.
