Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of San Gimignano, head towards the main road (Via San Giovanni) going southwest. Continue straight until you reach the main square, Piazza della Cisterna. From there, look for the signs pointing to the bus station. Take Via San Matteo and walk past the bus station. Continue down Via delle Fonti until you reach the junction with Via di Fugnano. Turn left onto Via di Fugnano, and after about 10 minutes of walking, you will arrive at the bus stop that takes you to Florence.

    At the bus stop in San Gimignano, board the bus heading to Florence. The bus journey will take approximately 1 hour. Sit back and enjoy the scenic views as you travel through the Tuscan countryside. Once you arrive at the main bus station in Florence (Piazzale Montelungo), exit the bus and walk towards the nearest tram stop.

    From the bus station, board the tram line T2 towards 'Aeroporto' and get off at 'Porta al Prato'. From there, transfer to tram line T1 towards 'Careggi' and get off at 'Santa Maria Novella'. Next, walk towards the historic center of Florence, which will take about 15 minutes. Walk along Via della Scala, then turn left onto Via della Vigna Nuova. Continue walking straight until you reach Piazza della Repubblica, then follow signs to the Uffizi Gallery. From there, head towards Piazza de' Pitti where the Pitti Mosaici is located at 23r.
