Getting There

  • Walking

    From the Piazza del Campo, head towards Via di Città and continue straight until you reach the Porta Romana. From the Porta Romana, follow the signs to 'Siena - Rignano sull'Arno'. Keep walking straight along the Via di San Marco until you reach the bus stop for Line 131 towards Rignano sull'Arno. Board the bus and enjoy the scenic ride. After approximately 40 minutes, get off at the stop 'Volognano'. From the bus stop, walk up the hill on Via di Volognano for about 10 minutes. The Castello di Volognano will be on your left. Follow the signs for the castle.

  • Public Transport

    Start at the Siena train station (Stazione di Siena). Purchase a ticket for the train to Rignano sull'Arno. The train journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Rignano sull'Arno station, exit and look for the bus stop for Line 131 towards Volognano. Board the bus and after approximately 15 minutes, get off at the 'Volognano' stop. From there, walk uphill on Via di Volognano for about 10 minutes until you reach Castello di Volognano.
