Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Siena Cathedral (Duomo di Siena), exit the cathedral and head down the stairs towards the main street, Via del Capitano. Turn left onto Via del Capitano, then take the first right onto Via di Città. Continue straight until you reach Piazza del Campo, the main square of Siena. Palazzo Pubblico is located at the edge of the square, directly in front of you.

    If you are at the Basilica di San Domenico, walk down the hill on Via San Domenico until you reach the intersection with Via di Città. Turn left onto Via di Città and follow the road as it gently slopes down. After a short walk, you will arrive at Piazza del Campo. Palazzo Pubblico will be located at the northern side of the square.

    If you are near the Fortezza Medicea, exit the fortress and head towards the main road, Viale Vittorio Emanuele II. Turn left and walk until you reach the intersection with Via di Città. Turn right onto Via di Città, and follow it until you reach Piazza del Campo. Palazzo Pubblico will be at the northern edge of the square.

    If you are coming from the train station (Stazione di Siena), exit the station and head towards the bus terminal. From there, take any bus that heads towards the city center and get off at the stop for Piazza del Campo. Once you disembark, walk straight into the square, and you will see Palazzo Pubblico directly ahead.
