Getting There

  • Bus

    From Sorrento, head to the Sorrento Train Station. Once there, look for the bus stop for SITA buses which is located near the entrance of the train station. Take the SITA bus heading to Amalfi. The journey will take approximately 1 hour. Enjoy the scenic views along the coast. Once you arrive in Amalfi, the bus will drop you off near the main square. From there, you can easily walk around and explore the beautiful town.

  • Ferry

    To reach Amalfi by ferry, walk to the Sorrento Marina Piccola, which is approximately a 15-minute walk from the main square of Sorrento. Follow the signs to Marina Piccola, and you will pass by some lovely shops and cafes. At the marina, look for the ferry service heading to Amalfi. Purchase your ticket at the ticket booth and board the ferry. The ride takes about 35 minutes and offers stunning views of the coastline. Once you arrive in Amalfi, you will be right at the waterfront, and from there you can explore the town.

  • Walking Tour

    If you are feeling adventurous and want to explore the beautiful Amalfi Coast on foot, you can take the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods) hike starting from Bomerano. However, this requires you to first take a bus from Sorrento to Bomerano (which takes about 30 minutes). Once in Bomerano, follow the signs for the Path of the Gods. The hike can take around 3-4 hours and leads you down to Amalfi, offering breathtaking views of the coastline. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water.
