Walking
From the center of Taormina, head towards Corso Umberto I, the main street of Taormina. Walk straight until you reach the end of the street. You will find yourself at the entrance of the ancient Greek Theatre. Continue straight and follow the signs for the bus station (Stazione degli Autobus). It is about a 10-minute walk from the Greek Theatre. Once you reach the bus station, look for the bus that goes to Catania. The journey will take around 1 hour.
Bus
After arriving at the bus station in Taormina, purchase a ticket for the bus heading to Catania. The buses usually run every 30 minutes, so check the schedule. Once on the bus, enjoy the scenic ride down the mountain to Catania. The bus will drop you off at the central bus terminal in Catania. From there, you can walk to Piazza del Duomo, which is approximately a 10-15 minute walk. Simply head southwest on Via Etnea and turn right onto Via Vittorio Emanuele II, which will lead you directly to Piazza del Duomo.
Taxi
You can also take a taxi from Taormina to Catania. Taxis are available at various points in the town, especially near the main squares. The taxi ride to Piazza del Duomo in Catania will take about 50 minutes, depending on traffic. Make sure to confirm the fare with the driver before starting your journey.
