Getting There

• Bus

  From Trieste, head to the main bus station (Stazione Autolinee) located near the train station (Stazione Ferroviaria di Trieste Centrale). Look for the bus line that goes to Sežana, which is usually operated by the company 'Trieste Trasporti'. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Sežana, you can walk to the Karst Living Museum, which is located at Partizanska c. 4. It is about a 15-minute walk from the bus station. Exit the bus station and turn left onto Sežana's main street. Continue straight until you reach Partizanska c. and follow the signs to the museum.

• Train

  From Trieste Centrale train station, take a train towards Sežana. The train service is regular and the journey will take around 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Sežana train station, exit the station and turn right. Walk straight until you reach the bus stop. From there, you can catch a local bus or walk. If you choose to walk, it will take approximately 25 minutes. Follow the main road, and look for signs directing you to Partizanska c. The Karst Living Museum will be on your right.

• Taxi

  For a more direct route, you can take a taxi from any point in Trieste to the Karst Living Museum. Taxis can be found at designated taxi stands or can be booked via phone or apps. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Just provide the driver with the address: Partizanska c. 4, 6210 Sežana.

• Walking

  If you're feeling adventurous and are located near the border of Slovenia, you can walk to Sežana from Trieste. From the city center, head towards the border, following the signs for Sežana. It is about a 10 km walk, which will take you approximately 2 hours. Once you enter Sežana, make your way to Partizanska c. 4, where the Karst Living Museum is located.
