Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, set your GPS to Borgo S. Frediano, 303, 50124 Firenze FI. Upon arrival in Florence, you will find limited parking options near the city center due to ZTL (Zona Traffico Limitato) restrictions. Look for parking garages such as Garage Palazzo Vecchio or Garage Sant'Ambrogio, where you can park for approximately €20-€30 per day. After parking, it's a short 10-minute walk to Porta di San Frediano.

• Train

  If you're arriving by train, head to Firenze Santa Maria Novella (SMN) station, which is the main train station in Florence. From there, you can either walk or take a local bus. Walking will take about 25 minutes; exit the station, head towards Piazza della Stazione, and continue straight onto Via Nazionale. Turn left on Via della Scala and continue until you reach Borgo S. Frediano. Alternatively, you can take bus line C2 from the station to the stop 'S. Frediano' for a quicker trip, which costs around €1.50.

• Public Transit (Bus)

  If you are already in Florence, you can easily reach Porta di San Frediano using the local bus network. Take bus line C3 from the central area, which will take you directly to the 'S. Frediano' stop. The bus ticket costs about €1.50 and can be purchased at convenience stores or tobacco shops. Once you get off the bus, it's just a short walk to the landmark.

• Walking

  If you are in the central area of Florence, Porta di San Frediano is easily accessible by walking. Start from Piazza della Signoria, head southwest on Via dei Leoni, then continue onto Via dei Bardi, which leads directly to Porta di San Frediano. This walk will take about 15-20 minutes and provides an excellent opportunity to enjoy the beautiful streets of Florence.
