Car
To reach Leisee in Zermatt by car, start from Aosta, the main city in Val d'Aosta. Take the A5 motorway towards Turin and follow the signs for the E25 towards Aosta Est. After about 30 km, take the exit for Aosta and continue on the SS26 road towards Chatillon. From Chatillon, follow the signs for Cervinia and then for Zermatt. Note that Zermatt is a car-free village; you will need to park your car at the designated parking area in Täsch (approximately 5 km from Zermatt). Once parked, take the shuttle train from Täsch to Zermatt (about 12 minutes). Upon arrival in Zermatt, walk towards Leisee, which is approximately a 30-minute walk from the train station, following signs leading to the lake.
Public Transportation
To get to Leisee using public transport, start at Aosta train station. Take a train to Chatillon, which is approximately 30 minutes away. From Chatillon, transfer to a train heading to Zermatt, which may require a transfer at Visp. This journey can take around 2-3 hours depending on connections. Once you arrive in Zermatt, exit the train station and follow the signs to Leisee. The walk to the lake takes about 30 minutes.
