Fosso Bianco, also known as Bagni San Filippo, is a captivating natural thermal area in the heart of Tuscany. Located in the Val d'Orcia region, near the village of Bagni San Filippo, these hot springs have been attracting visitors since Roman times. The area is characterized by its unique calcium carbonate formations, created over centuries by the mineral-rich waters.The most iconic formation is the 'Balena Bianca' (White Whale), a massive white cascade resembling a whale's back. The thermal waters, which emerge from the ground at approximately 48°C (118°F), flow over this formation, creating a visually stunning and soothing experience. The contrast between the white mineral deposits and the surrounding green forest is particularly striking.Visitors can soak in the various pools and streams, enjoying the therapeutic benefits of the mineral-rich waters.
