Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from another city within Veneto, use the A4 motorway towards Venice. Once you reach Venice, follow the signs for 'Venezia Centro' and park at one of the designated car parks, such as Piazzale Roma. From Piazzale Roma, you cannot drive further, so you will need to walk or take a Vaporetto (water bus) to reach the bridge.

  • Public Transportation - Train

    Take a train to Venice Santa Lucia train station from your starting point within Veneto. Upon arrival at the station, exit and head towards the Grand Canal. From here, you can either walk or take a Vaporetto (water bus) to reach Ponte della Paglia. The walk will take about 20 minutes; simply follow signs towards the Rialto Bridge and then head towards the Bridge of Sighs (Ponte dei Sospiri), which is very close to Ponte della Paglia.

    If you are arriving at Piazzale Roma or Venice Santa Lucia station, you can take the Vaporetto line 1 or line 2. If you are coming from Piazzale Roma, take line 1 towards Lido and get off at the 'Piazza San Marco' stop. From there, it’s a 10-minute walk to Ponte della Paglia. If taking line 2, get off at 'San Zaccaria' and walk towards the Bridge of Sighs, which is nearby.
