Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main train station (Venezia Santa Lucia), exit the station and head towards the Grand Canal. Cross the Ponte della Costituzione (the Constitution Bridge) to reach the opposite side. Once across, continue straight down the Calle dei Fabbri until you reach the iconic Piazza San Marco. From Piazza San Marco, head south-east through the narrow streets towards the Campo Santa Maria Formosa, then follow the signs towards the Giardini della Biennale. After reaching the Giardini, head south to the waterfront and catch a vaporetto (water bus) towards Padova.

    Take the vaporetto line 1 or line 2 from any of the stops near the Grand Canal (like San Marco or Rialto) towards Padova. When you arrive at the Padova stop, disembark and then follow the signs towards Piazza del Santo. The Basilica of St. Anthony will be directly in front of you as you enter the piazza.
