Getting There

  • Vaporetto (Water Bus)

    From your current location in Venice, make your way to the nearest Vaporetto stop, which could be either 'San Marco' or 'Rialto'. Board a Vaporetto heading towards 'Padova'. You will need to transfer to a train at the Santa Lucia train station. After about 30 minutes, you will arrive at Padova. Once you disembark, follow the signs to the train station exit and locate the bus terminal. Take Bus #1 towards 'Via Orto Botanico'. After a short ride, get off at the stop 'Orto Botanico'. The University of Padua Botanical Garden is just a short walk from the bus stop.

  • Train

    Head to Santa Lucia Train Station in Venice. You can walk there from your location or take a Vaporetto to the station. At the station, purchase a ticket to Padova. The train journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Padova Train Station, exit the station and find the bus stop outside. Take Bus #1 towards 'Via Orto Botanico' and disembark at the 'Orto Botanico' stop. The University of Padua Botanical Garden will be a short walk from there.

    If you prefer a scenic route, you can take a Vaporetto to the nearest point to Padova, but this will be a longer journey. Alternatively, you may walk to the bus terminal near the train station and take Bus #1 towards 'Via Orto Botanico'. After getting off at the stop 'Orto Botanico', walk straight for about 5 minutes, and you will reach the University of Padua Botanical Garden at Via Orto Botanico, 15.
