Car
To reach Fiume Versilia by car, start from the center of Viareggio. Head southeast on Viale Giuseppe Garibaldi towards Via Roma. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout, then take the second exit onto Viale Europa. Follow Viale Europa until you reach the junction with Via Aurelia. Turn right onto Via Aurelia (SS1) and follow the signs for Forte dei Marmi. After approximately 5 kilometers, you will see signs for Fiume Versilia. Turn right onto Via del Fiume, and you will arrive at Fiume Versilia. There is usually free parking available nearby, but be sure to check for any parking regulations.
Public Transportation
If you prefer using public transportation, take a train from Viareggio to Forte dei Marmi-Seravezza-Querceta station. The journey takes about 10 minutes. From the station, you can either walk (approximately 25 minutes) or take a local bus. If walking, exit the station and head southwest on Via Aurelia towards Via del Fiume. If you choose to take the bus, look for the bus stop near the station and catch a bus heading towards Forte dei Marmi. The bus fare is approximately €1.50. Once you reach the stop near Fiume Versilia, it's just a short walk to the river.
Bicycle
For those who enjoy cycling, renting a bicycle is a great way to reach Fiume Versilia. Start from Viareggio, heading towards the beach promenade along Viale Europa. Continue cycling until you reach the area near Forte dei Marmi. From there, follow Via del Fiume which leads directly to Fiume Versilia. The cycling distance is around 5-6 kilometers and offers beautiful views along the way. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic rules.
