If you're driving from Aki to Shirakawa-go, you will take the following route: Start by getting onto the Sanyo Expressway from Aki. Follow the expressway until you reach the junction with the Chuo Expressway. Merge onto the Chuo Expressway and continue driving until you reach the Takayama IC exit. From Takayama, follow Route 158 towards Shirakawa-go. The distance is approximately 90 km and the drive should take about 1 hour and 40 minutes depending on traffic. Upon arriving, park at one of the designated parking areas near Ogimachi village.

To reach Shirakawa-go from Aki using public transport, first head to Aki Station. Take a train to Takayama Station, which usually involves a transfer at Okayama Station.
