Bizan Park: Tokushima's Panoramic Peak
Enjoy panoramic views, seasonal flowers, and cultural landmarks at Bizan Park, a symbol of Tokushima City and a serene natural escape.
Bizan Park, located on Mt. Bizan, is a beloved landmark offering panoramic views of Tokushima City and beyond. Mt. Bizan, named for its eyebrow-like shape, has been a symbol of Tokushima since ancient times, celebrated in poetry and song. The park itself was established in 1958, with ongoing redevelopment to preserve its natural beauty. Visitors can enjoy seasonal flora, including cherry blossoms in spring and colorful foliage in autumn. The park features a flower cascade, a bird-watching area, and walking trails. A gazebo, gifted by Tokushima's sister city Saginaw, Michigan, USA, commemorates the bond between the two cities. At the summit, the observation area provides sweeping views of the city, the Yoshino River, the Seto Inland Sea, and the distant Kishu Mountains. On clear days, you might even spot Awaji Island and Wakayama Prefecture. The park also has a kaleidoscope monument with LED lights. For those seeking romance, there's a 'lovers spot' where couples can attach padlocks as a symbol of their commitment.
