Car
If you're driving to Kimii-dera from anywhere in Awaji, start by heading towards the Awaji Island Route (Route 28). Follow Route 28 until you reach the Awaji Island Interchange and take the exit towards the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. Once you cross the bridge, continue on Route 2 towards Wakayama. After about 30 minutes, keep an eye out for signs directing you to Kimii-dera. You will need to turn onto Kimiidera Road, which is located just before you reach the city center of Wakayama. Follow Kimiidera Road for approximately 5 minutes, and you'll find Kimii-dera on your left at 1201 Kimiidera, Wakayama.
Public Transportation
To reach Kimii-dera using public transportation, take a bus from Awaji to the nearest train station, which is the Sannomiya Station in Kobe. Board a train bound for Wakayama on the JR Hanwa Line. The train ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Wakayama Station, exit the station and look for the bus terminal nearby. Catch a local bus heading towards Kimiidera (look for bus line number 1 or 2) and ride it for about 20 minutes. The bus will drop you off at the Kimiidera stop, which is a short walk from the temple entrance.
