Car
If you're driving, head towards Route 57 from the center of Bungo. Follow the signs for Kumamoto and Aso District. After approximately 30 km, merge onto Route 325, which will take you directly into the Aso District. Keep an eye out for the scenic views of Aso volcano on your right as you approach the area. Once you reach the Aso District, look for parking areas near major attractions.
Public Transportation
To reach Aso District by public transportation, start at the Bungo Train Station. Take the JR Hohi Line train towards Kumamoto Station. After about 50 minutes, switch to the Kumamoto Electric Railway at Kumamoto Station and take the train bound for Aso Station. The total journey time is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Aso Station, you can either walk or take a local taxi to explore the Aso District.
